World breast feeding week 2023

On occasion of “World Breastfeeding Week 2023”, breastfeeding awareness programme was organised at Aregujjanahalli Anganawadi on 04/08/2023 and Shanthinagar PHC, field practice area of Community Medicine, SMCRI on 03/08/2023. Enabling breastfeeding: Making a difference for working parents was the theme for this year.

Dr. Usha Rani S Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine gave a talk about the importance of breastfeeding practices and on expressed milk for working mothers. Nearly 50 beneficiaries of Aregujjanahalli attended the programme and clarified their doubts regarding breastfeeding and expressed milk.Dr. Shruthi, Medical Officer, Urdigere, CDPO, Anganawadi teachers and ASHA workers were also present in this programme.

Awareness regarding breast feeding and its importance was given by Dr. Lata R Kollur and Dr. Vidya B, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, SMCRI.Nearly 50 beneficiaries of Shanthinagar attended this programme and clarified their doubts regarding Breast feeding.Dr. Saira Banu, PHC, Medical Officer, Shanthinagar, PHN Mrs. Anjum and other PHC staff were present.
