Inaugural and orientation program for the first batch of 1st MBBS course was held on 6-12-2022

Inaugural and orientation program for the first batch of 1 st MBBS course was held on 6/12/2022 at Siddaganga Medical College and Research Institute, Tumakuru. The gala inaugural program was presided by Dr. S Sacchidanand former vice chancellor, RGUHS Bangalore in the divine presence of his holiness Sree Sree Siddalinga Swamigalu revered president of Sree Siddaganga Math.

The program commenced with state anthem, invocation followed by lamp lighting ceremony. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr.Parmesh S, Director of SMCRI.

The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. M K Ramesh, Vice chancellor, RGUHS Bengaluru, who appreciated the contribution of religious mutts in the field of education and medicine and the need for young doctors to serve in rural areas to address maldistribution of doctors.

Addressing the students chief guest for the program Dr. C N Manjunath Director, Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research Institute, Bengaluru

spoke about the importance of commitment and patience while treating patients.

His holiness Sree Sree Siddalinga Swamigalu in his benedictory address remembered the contribution of his holiness Dr.Sree Sree Shivakumara Mahashi vayogi in facilitating the education of under privileged from rural areas. Addressing the students his holiness said that Siddaganga Math is committed to deliver quality education and serve the poor and needy.

Thereafter the function was completed with the vote of thanks from the Principal Dr Shalini M followed by the National Anthem. The orientation program for the I MBBS students commenced with introduction of faculty and a brief overview of facilities available at SMCRI. Heads of the department and faculty members spoke about the MBBS curriculum, rules and regulations of the institution and the hostel, anti ragging measures taken by the institution and the mentorship program for the students.

The students were presented by the heads of the departments and faculty with a white coat at a very solemn ceremony – symbolic of their having accepted to serve the patients. CharakShapath was administered to the students.

The program concluded with Principal Dr Shalini M addressing the concerns of students and parents, assuring them that the institution is fully committed to provide best medical education to its students.
