Forensic Medicine is a branch of Medicine which deals with the application of Medical knowledge in the Administration of Justice. This branch also includes Medical Jurisprudence, i.e. Application Of Law into the Medical practice, The Department deals with medico-legal work like autopsy, exhumation, age estimation, and instils a sense of professional ethics and responsibility and thereby helps young medical students to learn the basics of forensic medicine and attain higher standards in medical practice and avoid medical negligence. The department educates and empowers students to develop interest in advanced scientific analysis of medical evidences for the promotion of truth and justice. It provides quality Forensic Medicine and Toxicology education and prepares physicians who are well informed about medico legal responsibilities in medical practice.
