On the occasion of National Bone and Joint week which was held at Smcri under the guidance of Indian Orthopaedic Association from 3rd to 6th of August 2026 various programmed were organized with everyday different themes
On 3rd of August school visit was organized at Siddaganga high school BH road Tumakuru where our paediatric orthopaedic surgeon Dr Rahul MH spoke about the pediatric orthopaedic problems and nutritional bone disorders and also explained about the balanced diet, weight of school bag and necessity of exercises and sun exposure.
Bone and Joint day was inaugurated on 4th August in front of C block where awareness about “road traffic accident immediate care” by street a play was done by final year MBBS students which was attended by executive director, Medical director, principal, medical superintendent, CEO, nursing superintendent and all the HODs along with their department staffs.
On 7th of August dr narayana gowda BS visited Tumakuru government retired employees association and created awareness about the geriatric bone diseases, prevention of fall at home and he also explained about the common old age orthopaedic issues and their management. He also co ordinated BMD camp for the members.
On this occasion free BMD, Uric acid and RBS camp was held where nearly 600 patients were screened for osteoporosis and necessary advice was given.
