National
Pharmocology Day was celebrated on 17th August 2026 in the
department of Pharmacology. The programme began with a floral tribute to Sir
Colonel Ram Nath Chopra, the Father of Indian Pharmacology, in remembrance of
his valuable contributions to the field of pharmacology in India.
Following the
floral tribute, an interactive session was conducted for paramedical students.
The students were addressed on the importance of pharmacology in healthcare and
the role of medicines in patient care. Simple and practical examples were used
to explain the importance of safe and rational use of medicines, awareness
about adverse drug reactions, and the responsibility of healthcare
professionals in promoting medication safety.
The programme concluded on a positive note,
with the students actively participating in the session and gaining a better
understanding of the importance of pharmacology and its practice.
