Doctors’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Siddaganga Medical College & Research Institute (SMCRI), Tumakuru, on 1st July 2026, marking the birth anniversary of Dr. B. C. Roy and honouring the dedicated service of doctors. The event witnessed the presence of faculty members, doctors, and postgraduate students from various departments. The program began with a tribute to Dr. B. C. Roy, followed by a brief presentation on his life and remarkable contributions to the medical profession.
The celebration was filled with vibrant cultural and recreational activities, bringing together healthcare professionals in a joyful spirit of unity. Highlights included a Kannada retro song jamming session by the Department of Medicine, a skit by the Department of Respiratory Medicine, and dance performances by the Departments of Pathology and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Fun-filled games such as Kannada-to-English funny translation, Guess the Proverb through Lip-Syncing (Pass on the Message), and other engaging activities added laughter and excitement. The event concluded with the Doctors’ Day Pledge, reaffirming everyone’s commitment to compassionate care, ethical practice, and professional excellence.
