Inauguration of First Year MBBS Course 2026–27

Siddaganga Medical College and Research Institute (SMCRI), Tumakuru, inaugurated the First Year MBBS Course for the academic year 2026–27 on 28 September 2026 at the SMCRI campus.

The programme was held in the divine presence and blessings of His Holiness Sree Sree Siddalinga Mahaswamigalu, Revered President, Sree Siddaganga Math. Dr H. Basavanagowdappa, Vice Chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru, was the Chief Guest. The programme was presided over by Dr S. Sacchidanand, Executive Director, SMCRI and Former Vice Chancellor, RGUHS.

Distinguished guests, institutional dignitaries, faculty members, students and parents attended the inaugural ceremony. Dr Shalini M, Principal, SMCRI; Dr S Paramesh, Medical Director; and Dr Niranjana Murthy B, Medical Superintendent, extended their support and guidance for the successful commencement of the new academic year. The event marked the beginning of an enriching journey for the new batch of MBBS students, with a commitment to academic excellence, professional values and compassionate patient care.
